Italian Chili


1 lb. bulk Italian Sausage
2 cups diced onion
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 tbsp. diced garlic (or 2 tbsp. powdered garlic)
2 large cans (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
2 cups beef broth
2 cans cannellini beans (white kidney beans)
2 cans red kidney beans
1/2 cup basil
Salt and Pepper to taste


Brown sausage in olive oil. Saute onion and garlic in separate pan with olive oil.  Add onion and garlic to sausage after it is done.  Stir in tomatoes and broth.  Reduce heat to medium and simmer for 30 minutes.  Add beans (drained and rinsed), basil, salt and pepper to chili until beans are heated.
